Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Duties and Responsibilities:

This profession appeals to individuals who like a fast-paced job with a variety of responsibilities. Being a positive presence in the lives of sick and injured patients is a rewarding experience. There are many choices for employment including hospitals, nursing homes, medical offices, and home health care. The exact nature of the duties depends on the environment of the specific job although there are commonalities in all positions. Some common duties of LPN’s are to give prescribed medicine, check vital signs, basic care, and take info down onto files.


The median expected salary for a typical Licensed Practical Nurse in the United States is $42,279. The median pay in $40,380 per hour he pays $19.42.


Licensed practical and licensed vocational nurses must complete a state-approved educational program, which usually takes 1 year. They also must pass an exam and get a license before they can work. Licensed practical and licensed vocational nurses (known as LPNs or LVNs, depending on the state in which they work) provide basic nursing care. They work under the direction of registered nurses and doctors.




I don’t think id like to be a LPN because I wouldn’t have the patience to care for.
